19 travels to Kerala
Manijeh Hekmat’s new film, 19, is a part of the World Cinema section in the 26th International Film Festival of Kerala – IFFK 2022 to be held from March 18th to 25th, 2022 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. IFFK 2022 was supposed to be staged in the early February, but the event was postponed due to the outbreak of the new variation of coronavirus in the region.
After IFFK, the film will be screened in Regional International Film Festival (RIFFK) in Kerala.
19 is also a main competition entry in Kolkata IFF 2022.
In this film, Hekmat, well known director of highly acclaimed films such as WOMEN’S PRISON, THREE WOMEN and BANDAR BAND, takes the spirit of a dying painter in the COVID times into the labyrinths of her family bonds, her old love and the modern Iranian history intelligently and subtly.
