19 goes to Life beyond Life
In the 3rd edition of Life beyond Life Film Festival (March 20th to 29th, 2023 / Turin – Italy), Manijeh Hekmat’s 19 will be a part of the official selection.
Shot during the quarantine days in Iran, 19 makes a unique film language for the COVID days, combining the scenes made by a small crew with the archival footages and the videos shot by the actors themselves with their cells under the remote supervision of the director. Going back to the memories of a dying woman painter infected by coronavirus, the film takes a trip through the Iranian Modern History, through revolution, war and pandemic.
After its premiere in the main competitive section in Kolkata IFF 2022, 19 travelled to Kerala, UCLA, Batumi, Religion Today, Popoli e Religioni, Sofia MENAR and New Delhi IAWRT.
