MORSE Goes to Jacksonville

Ronak Jafari’s second short film, MORSE, will be screened in the 22nd edition of Jacksonville Film Festival (February 2nd to 5th, 2023 / USA).

Inspired by the tragic death of Khosro Golsorkhi, Iranian leftist poet, journalist and activist, who was executed in 1974, MORSE revolves the story of a last supper with the ex-political prisoners, the beloved of their dead comrade and a spirit summoner to find Judas the betrayer. Aired on TV, Golsorkhi’s trial marked an early sign for a revolution in Iran…

In MORSE, Jafari has gone through a cinematic venture, shooting the last supper scenes with candle lights and uses a mockumentary devise in the interviews of the widowed woman in the present day.
