THE SUN OF THAT MOON goes to WMAFF 2023

In the 7^th edition of Women Media Arts and Film Festival (March 6^th to 12^th, 2023 / Sydney, Australia), Setareh Eskandari’s debut feature film, THE SUN OF THAT MOON is a part of the feature films program.

Travelling to Sistan and Balouchestan province in south east of Iran, with all its intact landscapes, intensive music, colorful dresses and spicy dishes, THE SUN OF THAT MOON presents a real picture of a mesmerizing region in Iran which is always wrongly depicted as a nest for terrorists and smugglers in the official propagandistic productions in the country.

Through the story of a forbidden love and a self imposed silence, the film focuses on a widow who must confront the oppressive patriarchy and the limiting traditions… a fight underlining the importance of life and liberty…
