THE SUN OF THAT MOON wins the Best Director Award at Idromeno 2023
In the 2nd Idromeno Independent Film Festival (May 6th to 12th, 2023 / Shkodër, Albania), Setareh Eskandari received the Best Director Award for her debut feature film, THE SUN OF THAT MOON.
Setareh Eskandari is a prolific actress who is highly acclaimed and awarded in different theatre, TV and film ceremonies and festivals. Working with big names in Iranian theatre, most notably with Ali Rafiee in Dey Troop, Eskandari has been also active as stage and TV play director.
After its world premiere at IFFI – Goa 2021, her first directorial venture, THE SUN OF THAT MOON has participated in Iranian Film Festival Zurich 2022 (Switzerland / Main Competition), Within the Family International Film Festival 2022 (Russia / Main Competition), Les Rimbaud du Cinema 2022 (France / Main Competition), Sofia MENAR Film Festival 2023 (Bulgaria / Focus on Iranian Women Filmmakers), “Flowers against Bullets” Film Festival 2023 (Austria / Nominations for Prize of Cultures, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Music Score) and Women Media Arts and Film Festival 2023 (Australia / Feature Films Competition).
