Nomination for Five Iranian Feature Films in Wales IFF 2023
In the 7th Wales International Film Festival (September 14th to 15th, 2023 / UK), five IRIMAGE titles are nominated for the awards.
THE LOCUST, second feature film by Faeze Azizkhani, will compete in both the Best Film and the Best Foreign Film categories. The film has been previously screened in SXSW 2022, Edinburgh 2022, Split 2022, Vancouver 2022, Sao Paulo 2022, Phoenix 2023, SF Indie2023, Regina 2023, Karlovy Vary 2023, etc.
The following titles are also included in the Best Foreign Film Finalists list:
KILLING A TRAITOR, directed by veteran cineaste, Masoud Kimiai which celebrated its international premiere at Rotterdam 2023.
MOTERLESS, first feature film by Morteza Fatemi, which have already garnered the Best Film Award at Dhaka 2023, Crossing the Screen 2023 and Bengaluru 2023 and received the Best Director Award at Rainbow 2023.
BETWEEN THE CLIFFS, first feature film by Mokhtar Abdollahi, which have been a part of the program at Dhaka 2023, BUFF 2023, Lucknow CMS 2023, Within the Family 2023 (Best Children’s Film and Best Child Actors Winner), Kerala ICFKK 2023 and Seoul ICFF 2023.
WIND OF CHANGE, new film by Abbas Rafei, an entry at Dhaka 2023 and UCLA Celebration of Iranian Cinema 2023.
