Logline:

Failure of the Will…

 

Synopsis:

Involved in different legal and illegal petty works, Mohammad is working and living in a room in the biggest football stadium in Tehran with his wife and his little son. During a riot in Tehran, he disappears when two women are looking forward to seeing him impatiently: his wife, Maryam, who is desperately seeking him all through the city, and a convicted woman, Shahla, who needs him as the only witness who can save her from death with a confession in the appeal court…

 

Director’s View:

It’s an attempt to show how social issues sometimes forces people to turn into living statues who strive to stay alive, forgetting all about their will and their existence.

Director’s Profile:

Born in 1970 in Tehran, Alireza Amini is a graduate of stage directing. After making more than 20 short and documentary films and working as assistant director in the independent films, he made his debut feature, LETTERS IN THE WIND, in 2002. The film entered prestigious film festivals such as Busan and Toronto and brought him international recognition and critical acclaim.  With his second feature film, TINY SNOWFLAKES, he won a number of awards in Locarno, Busan and Thessaloniki.  His third film, THE RIVERSIDE, was awarded in Karlovy Vary.
