THE SUN OF THAT MOON, MAMAN and DROWN to compete in Nouvelles Images Persanes 2023
In the 3rd Nouvelles Images Persanes (November 14th to 19th, 2023 / Vitré, France), three Iranian debut feature films are included in the competitive program:
Setareh Eskandari’s THE SUN OF THAT MOON which was premiered in IFFI – Goa 2021 and then travelled to Iranian FF Zurich 2022 (Main Competition), Within the Family FF 2022 (Main Competition), Les Rimbaud du Cinema 2022 (Main Competition), Sofia MENAR FF 2023 (Focus on Iranian Women Filmmakers), “Flowers against Bullets” FF 2023 (Nominations for Prize of Cultures, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Music Score), Women Media Arts and Film Festival (Feature Films Competition), Iranian Women FF in Frankfurt 2023, Idromeno Independent FF 2023 (Best Director Award) and International IMAGO FF 2023 (Best Film and Best Director Awards).
Arash Aneessee’s MAMAN which was a part of Debut Films Competition at IFFI – Goa 2021 and subsequently screened at Chennai IFF 2021, MIFF 2022, Wales IFF 2022 (Nominee – Best Foreign Language Film Award), Les Rimbaud du Cinema 2022 (Best Performances in a Leading Role and in a Supporting Role Awards) and Asian Film Festival Barcelona 2022 (Best Director Award).
