Four Films to compete in “Flowers against Bullets” FF

In the 1st edition of “Flowers against Bullets” Film Festival (March 1st, 2023 / Austria), Setareh Eskandari’s THE SUN OF THAT MOON, Alireza Amini’s THE 4TH ROUND, Ramin Rasouli’s THE DOGS DIDN’T SLEEP LAST NIGHT and Bijan Aarabi’s THE CHICK are included in the competitive programs.

Competing in seven categories, Prize of Cultures, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Music Score, Setareh Eskandari’s debut feature film, THE SUN OF THAT MOON was premiered in International Film Festival of India – Goa 2021 and then competed in Iranian Film Festival Zurich 2022, Within the Family International Film Festival 2022 and Les Rimbaud du Cinema 2022.

Competing in six categories, Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Editing, Alireza Amini’s THE 4TH ROUND won the Best Actress and the Best Cinematography Awards at Within Family Film Festival 2021 in its World Premiere and then travelled to Wales International Film Festival 2021 (Finalist – Best Foreign Language Film Category), Barcelona Asian Film Festival 2021 (Official Panorama Section), Santa Cruz International Film Festival 2022 (Competition), Lucania Film Festival 2022 (Audience Award for the Best Feature-length Fiction Film), Film Series Off-Asian Film Festival Barcelona – AFFBCN: Iran, Portraits of a Society 2022, Universal Film Festival 2022 (Best Drama Nominee) and Les Rimbaud du Cinema 2022 (Competition).

Competing in three categories, Red Cross Award, Best Feature Film and Best Director, Ramin Rasouli’s second feature film, THE DOGS DIDN’T SLEEP LAST NIGHT , as an Afghan/Dutch/Iranian coproduction, was premiered in the main competition of International Film Festival of India – Goa 2021 and then participated in Chennai International Film Festival 2021, Fajr International Film Festival 2021 (Interfaith Prize Winner), Wales International Film Festival 2021 (Finalist – Best Foreign Language Film Category), Kazan International Muslim Film Festival 2021 (Russia – Islamic World Program), Barcelona Asian Film Festival 2021 (Discoveries Section), Sao Paulo International Film Festival 2021 (New Filmmakers Competition), Carthage International Film Festival 2021 (World Cinema Section), Popoli e Religioni – Terni Film Festival 2021 (Competition Section), Bastau International Film Festival 2021 (Special Afghan Programme), Golden Jury International Film Festival 2021 (The Best Foreign Language Film Award Category), International Guwahati Film Festival 2022, Afghan Film Cycle in Barcelona – Casa Asia Special Program 2022, Nederlands Film Festival 2022, Sama International Film Festival 2022 (Films from Afghanistan), Universal Film Festival 2022 (Best Drama Category) and Hanoi International Film Festival 2022 (Panorama).

Competing for the Best Short Film Award, Bijan Aarabi’s THE CHICK has participated in main competitive section in prestigious festivals such as Hong Kong, Fribourg, Leeds, etc. and named the winner of CH Cinema Network Award in Fribourg 2021.
